with garlic, tomato & cheese
When we are on the run but what to eat well, I think sparing 10 to 15 minutes to prepare this breakfast dish is possible! It took me under 5 minutes to cut and sort all of the ingredients, then 6 to 10 minutes to cook (depending on how runny your like your eggs). Health can be yours through a simple recipe like this.
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 4 pieces of cherry tomatoes, sliced into 4
- 2 eggs, quantity of your chooce
- cheese, type of your choice
- Salt & Pepper
The first step is to ensure all of the ingredients are a similar size so minced the garlic, dice the tomatoes and slice the cheese into squares. When all the ingredients are the same size, then they will cook eveningly and thoroughly. Then place all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl, and mix thoroughly.
After the ingredients are mixed, heat oil or butter of your preference onto the pan. I personally use coconut oil because that is what is the abundant cooking oil in the Philippines.
Once the pan is hot, you may pour the mixing bowl of ingredients onto the pan using your left hand and with your right hand, you hold the pan to slide the ingredients across the pan to get an even circle.
After you have evenly distributed the ingredients, add your herbs, spices, salt & pepper.
Eventually, the edges of the omelette will begin to crisp. You may test this out with a spatula or shake the pan a bit to see if the omelette will dance. If it does, then you may use the spatula to guide an edge to the centre, then use the spatula to press down and flatten. Repeat until it looks like an omelette, or like the image on the right.
If your skills omelette flipping skills are not substantial, then you may slice the omelette in half, and take your time flipping it in the small portion.
When your omelette is a colour you find edible, which for me is golden brown like in the images (because some like it runny), then grab a serving container and eat your omelette.
Eating an omelette alone never fills me up, so I like to consume it with leftover meat and a bowl of rice.
Let me know in the commets below how you like your omelette and if you added any special ingredients in the process!
